Alation Cloud Service Applies to Alation Cloud Service instances of Alation

Customer Managed Applies to customer-managed instances of Alation

Before installing and configuring the Azure Cosmos DB OCF connector, ensure that you configure the network connectivity and set up the service account.

Configure Network Connectivity¶

Open outbound TCP port 443 to the Azure Cosmos DB server.

Create a Service Account¶

For Account Key authentication, Alation requires a service account with a account key, endpoint, and token.

Grant Required Permissions¶

Permissions for Metadata Extraction¶

The minimum required permission for metadata extraction is to have a resource token. By default, the Azure Cosmos DB OCF connector is configured to use a master token.
